City/hotel recommendations for mid-north Florida or south Georgia beach vacation? I live in Jacksonville,Florida and I want to take a 3-4 day mini on the beach vacation. Preferrably within 3 hours from home. I want to stay on the beach and we are a young couple so a plaace with good restaurants and bars in walking distance would be nice. Any ideas? (Not Daytona) =)
yes , create something fun for yourself……….
I’d like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it’s hard to understand why people don’t stay home. Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere – anywhere but home.
go to st.augustine i love that place im from jville to and this is where i go when i want to get away

What are some nice places in Maine for a family beach vacation? My family wants to go to a beach location in Maine for vacation. We’re all adults, so we just want a tranquil area with not too many other people around, especially not too many kids. Ideally it should be within walking distance of a town with restaurants, shopping etc. though, or at least within a 15 min drive. We’ll probably want to rent a beach cottage or something for 4-7 nights. Any general suggestions on what towns/areas to look at, or specific suggestions of beaches/cottages to stay at?
The nudist beaches are the best, and are frequented by a variety of families with lots of kids on weekends, but not as many kids during the week.
= Feliz navidad y SUERTE!!!! Para el 2010 Un Abrazo!!!! y BUEN VIAJE!!!!! SEAN BIENVENIDOS!!!!! = We knew FamilyFun readers were a loyal bunch, but when we asked them to reveal their favorite vacation spots, we wondered if we’d gone too far. After all, who’d want to share their special island hideaway, mountain retreat or seaside camping spot? We shouldn’t have worried. “This place is so good,
What to bring to a beach/cottage vacation? Hello everyone, A beach vacation is coming up!! A few friends and I are heading about two hours away and spending the weekend at the beach. We’ve rented a cottage for the two nights and I’m doing by best to create a list of what to bring. I have a tendency to forget things and I wouldn’t want to forget anything important. Or anything that I shouldn’t forget to do. Thanks Guys =]
What is the Best Secluded Beach Vacation spot in the world? I’m looking for a seclude place on the beach for our 25th Anniversary. We would some activies to do and prefer it to be all inclusive.
Well, Lanikai Beach on Oahu is very nice. It’s a public beach, but if you go in the winter months, it’s pretty empty. You could also try some of the nicer hotels near Honolulu, they probably won’t have too much traffic. Good luck and congrats on making it to 25 years!
Am I the only one who thinks a beach vacation would be terribly dull and hot? I can’t see myself going to somewhere tropical just to lay on a beach. Maybe for a couple of hours but then I’d be done! This left me wondering what other peoples’ ideal vacays are…
In this time and age i dont think so
Probably not. No one can do one thing like that for very long….beach vacations are fun, but only when you do other stuff besides just laying there. Like, fishing, crabbing, building sand sculptures, grilling, playing random games, meeting the other people there, etc.
Hotter the better and no ticket home.
